He received a BSEE in 1985 from Rutgers University, College of Engineering and a MSEE in 1990 form Johns Hopkins University, Applied Physics Laboratory.
Bobby Nanan is a Mechanical design group lead at the Goddard Space Flight in Greenbelt Maryland. He has 30+ years of experience in the aerospace field. NASA & NRL.Currently he is the lead mechanical designer on the NASA MMS project.
Robbie Oehrli is a Senior Mechanical Engineering major at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He co-founded the team with Mr. Cullings in the 2009 season during his senior year at Hammond High School and has returned every build season since to help mentor the team.
Phyllis Hestnes is an Associate Branch Head for the Science Data Processing Branch at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. She has 20+ years expierience developing avionics. She is currently the electrical systems lead of the NASA NICER payload that is scheduled to launch for the ISS in August 2016.
Miguel Iraola is a Partner and Director of Planning for Hord Coplan Macht, an planning and architecture firm in Baltimore, MD. He is a landscape architect by training, and has helped the team since 2011.
Robert Hopkins is a Mechanical Engineer at Thorlabs Quantum Electronics in Jessup, MD. He was one of the first year members of Team 2849. He went on to join a FormulaSAE team in college. After graduating from University o Delaware in 2013, he returned to Columbia and now enjoys mentoring Team 2849.

Bill Schneider is an instructor of IT courses for software professionals at /training/etc in Columbia, MD. Bill has 28 years experience in sotware system design and implementation for NASA, NSA, and AAA. Bill has an MS and BS in electrical engineering from Auburn University. But more significantly, Bill is an Average Renaissance Joe with interests in a diverse array of life skills that just might help build a better robot.
